Results -

Housemates today have competed in their first task, the Big Brother break-dancing championship. A mystery prize awaited the winner, and Big Blagger has the 411 about all of the pops and locks.

Housemates had to nominate two leaders to choose members for their crew. Shabnam and Carole were elected as leaders, each taking turns to decide who was on their team. Each member of their crew has to compete with an opposing member in a dance off.

Shabnam’s team, naming themselves Shabalicious, was Chanelle or “Coco” as she was nicknamed, Tracey, “Luscious” Laura and Charley. Carole, calling herself “MCCV” chose Sam and Amanda, the “Bootilicous double trouble twins” Nicky, Emily and “Luscious Lesley”.

Each dance had to include a selection from five listed moves: the Freeze, the Back spin, the Wrist glide, the Six step and the Caterpillar.

60 year old Carole’s and 53 year old Lesley’s attempts at the Worm and the Wrist Glide earnt them the nickname “Grannies with attitude.” Lesley’s attempts at the worm amounted to little more than her laying on her front, pushing herself along the floor with her hands and grunting as she moved.

Emily offered her younger, more flexible joints as a demonstration to the older Housemates and she asked Lesley: "Do you know what a teddy bear roll is?" Lesley, aghast at the question, said: "Of course I don’t know what a teddy bear roll is, I'm 60 years old".

Watching the rest of the group practising, Lesley observed: "We look like a bunch of tumble tots more than breakdancers.”

In an effort to inject some “attitude” into her team’s performance, Emily gyrated her body and shook her bum to applause from her fellow breakdancers. Unimpressed,Lesley joked: “I’d love to come and see Emily doing this when she’s 70 years old”.

When the Housemates performed in the dance off, Carole performed an athletic cartwheel, caterpillar and badass backspin, Charley did a headstand and at the very least, Lesley’s Caterpillar was at least on all fours.

Chanelle forgot most of her team’s moves yet managed to improvise her way through the dance, in what can only be described as freestyle. Other Housemates performed well, especially the twins who debuted a wonderful choreographed routine.

The Housemates gathered on the sofas to await the results.
Out of Carole and Shabnam, Carole won.
Out of Charley and Lesley, Charley won.
Out of Chanelle and Emily, Emily won.
Out of Laura and Nicky, Laura won.
Out of the twins and Tracey, Tracey won.

This means that Carole’s group won the task by 3 wins to 2 and all six members received trophies. "This is the first time I've won a trophy," Nicky told Big Bro as they crowded in the Diary Room. "You had some pretty fresh moves," confirmed Big Brother.
