    Default News Reporter Guide

    Want to become a Journalist?
Here are a few things you should keep in mind before posting an article:

    For starters:
When writing about the happenings on Habbo, it is very important that your articles don't sound too similar to Habbo's.
Why would people read your article when the could go and read one extremely similar one on Habbo itself?

    Grammatical Errors:
The truth is, when reading an article, no one wants to come across silly grammar related errors! Not only does it make you sound a bit thick, it makes your site look unprofessional!
This is why it is important that you proof read your articles before submitting them.
If you're having trouble with the spelling of a word, why not search it on Google, or type it in a word document!
    (Better safe than sorry)

    Things to stay clear of:
There are some things that a news reporter should steer away from:
    • Smilies in articles. These are a big no-no! Why not use descriptive words instead?
    • It is extremely common to come across this "That's right" and "You heard". These are something which display lack of creativity, as they are used so often! When read- they sound totally lame-oh!
    • "Signing out" Putting these little phrases at the end of articles is completely unnecessary! As is "Coming to you from...." at the beginning of articles.
    Using Capital Letters:
When writing about Habbo, you must remember to add capital letters when naming anything from Habbo... such as "Catalogue, Habbo, Furni" etc.

    Unique and entertaining:
No one likes to read a boring article!
When writing your article, don't be afraid to use a bit of humour!
People like things that will make them giggle, however it is important not to get carried away and say rude/vulgar things.
To drag the reader in, why not use an image? Images are are handy to use in articles to give them a bit of life!
Remember: the image will be the first thing people notice. Therefore, if the image is interesting, then they'll be determined to read your article in order to find out what it's about!
(Make sure your image is relevant to the text)

Keeping all that in mind, you are set to be an awesome Journalist!
Feel free to send me any questions you may have!
