Default PHP & Mysql blob limit?

I am having a problem, I am coding a script to put files into mysql database. After some testing a few people said it cut their images off.

So I was confused why it was doing this, played around with a few things but then looked at the uploaded file sizes that had been currupted/cut off. They where all 64 kB

Is there some varible that limits mysql blob colloms, is there a way of changing it without accessing php.ini

I had a look on php net and read about max_allowed_packet but not really sure what to do

    Please help x]

    Danny

If asking here doesn't wield a result, try at php's newsgroup (news.php.net), in p.general

    Some clever people there. :]

I don't think there is a way Danny, maybe ask your host to look into it?

Its probably set to timeout after a certain size or something.

Its the size of the packet, there is no error just displays the image/file but the size can only be 64kB max so is half a image, first 2 seconds of a song etc. I am 99% sure there is a way to do this as phpmyadmin is able to handle larger files. The display script is fine, the uploader is fine just inserting the data into sql is the problem.
