On most website logos now they use oval maquee, How do you do this in photoshop 7.0?

EDIT: I've found it but I don't know how to use it

Are you talking about the 2 different shades in the text live works?

If so how I would do it (Being a novice so there is probabily an easier way) would be to use the marqee to select the part you want brighter.

then click image > adjustmt > brightness and contrast

then change the brightness about 20-30

When I draw a oval marquee round it, then click image, Image is grey and blanked out so you cant use it.

I'm assuming you are trying to apply this to a text layer, if this is the situation you need to take a tool to your text such as the paint can then a warning box will come up saying something like this

'This type layer mush be rasterized...'

if this is the case click ok then you should be able to do what I said before
