Do you say the racist 'P' word...

Hey.

This thread is in no way meant to cause offence and if any arguments break out or stuff it'll just get closed, lol.

I was thinking about how on Big Brother and stuff is anyone says the "P" word which is classed as racist, they would definitely be kicked out. However, I know loads of people who use the word - not in an offensive way.

For instance, they may just say "I'm going to the [word]" - in reference to their local corner shop...

Or like describe someone's race as [word]... Obviously that isn't politically correct, but many people simply class it as an abbreviation.

Therefore, I was just wondering whether this is a common term which people use around the country in a non-offensive way, but in every day language.

yeah i use it, it's only a shortened version of pakistani which is what some people are. what's so racist about it?

The think i dont get is

"asians" - Asia
"british" - Birtain
"****" - Pakistan

So how can they correct us from saying **** when they are from pakistan not asia :S

I think quite a lot of people actually use it, yet society likes to pretend it is a disgusting word which no-one uses. However, I think the reality is many people do - not in a harmful or offensive way, but simply as an abbreviation of their nationality within our everyday language.
