    Basically what everyone has just said is hex code is a series of 6 digits that numerically represent a colour when used in html or css. They are always preceeded by a "#". If you have photoshop you should notice that when you choose colours it shows the hex. Examples below.

    Black = #000000
    White = #FFFFFF
    Red = #FF0000

    EDIT: The white doesn't seem to work here? :S

    It gets changed to black auto because of the black skin and it's trouble seeing black text on it.

    It's all confusing but it's because of the skins
