What is Keylogger? The way people are talking about it, it sounds like a program that installs itself on your computer, can anyone tell me if that is right?

A keylogger is a small program that can either install it self or can be installed to a pc by someone else. It logs all keys pressed on the keyboard and the application it was pressed it. It then sends an email log back to the person who sent the keylogger, thus they can steal your password and username.

Keyloggers are not illegal programs but it is illegal to install it to someone elses pc without their full consent

Keylogger is a program that records everything you type..each word each letter. You can get it over MSN, scamming sites etc. So never accept files over MSN if you don't know and trust the person. If you have a keylogger you need to destroy it but first find it which is the hard part. You should dowload Spybot and set up a firewall. If you have any futrther questions about this ask away. ;D

Thanks, I have Mcafee Personal Firewall and a Spyware that I got free from AOL, will those two programs stop people from Hacking/Keylogging me?

I pretty much use them both everyday, but when I start the Spyware there is always a program, I block it, but it then the next day the Spyware finds the same program again. At least I think its the same program...I'll try find out.
