    Default Shyness

    Hello

When im at school in a lesson, and a teacher says "Sean, read out (page number) please" I GET SO SHY AND I HATE READING OUT!

It could be because of lack of confidence, but I hate it because I fear if I make a mistake everyone will laugh or something. Anyone else shy? Not mildly shy, VERY shy. I sometimes get red and sweat but not much anymore, just shy!

I agree, Adam. But, especially my English teacher, if you get picked to read things theres no question about it, you gotta read.

I get very shy too. Sometimes I even put my hand up to read and then when I get picked I get all nervous of like, getting a word wrong! Especially when it's Shakespeare, loads of words that I've never seen before and I can't read it when every other word'st end'st like'st this'st.

People don't laugh when you make accidental errors. If they do, you're in a class full of ******s. You only need to be shy if you can't read... if you're at least an okay reader, then don't be shy and go for it - you'll be surprised.

Yes there is in every school. As you say, they won't laugh so there is no need to be shy! Speak loudly, clearly and confidently and ignore that nasty nervous feeling and after your first time you won't be worried about doing it again.
