Well I am having to resort to using FS2004 but when playing online, say you have a downloaded aircraft, is it only you that can see it as that or everyone else, I'm talk about both FSX and FS2004?

Say your in a downloaded 747. The people you fly with may see you in a cessna or something different to the 747 UNLESS they have the same aircraft installed into their flight simulator or your on vatsim.

Refering to the post above, isn't vatsim the same as flying online...?

no its not, you can fly your own multiplayer session if you don't want vatsim plus theres IVAO, and service, same as matt said, and you'll be probably viewed in vip texture.
