Default An idea someone may want to do...

I know some people are wanting to do some coding but havent got any ideas what to code. Well, I have a idea.

What about a website/script that allows people to track there usage of Habbo. It "pings" there homepage every 10 minutes using cron to see if they are online and logs down the results.

Then you count how many times he/she has been on for 10 minutes and times it by 10.

Then you could have a place where you can see when they have been online, how long (GD signitures maybe). I was going to do this but I am busy with other things (including Uploadz) and if nobody wants to do this I will to it in a couple of months.

One problem is server load, you wouldnt want to have 100's of users on the system so you may not want to host this service. Make it something you download and put onto your hosting, server load would be high otherwise.

    ly, bye xox

Never argue with an idiot, he'll drag you down to his level, and beat you with experience.

I could create a windows service that connects to MySQL and gets the usernames and then "pings" the homepage to check. Would be more effective than using a web script. Could run it on my server. Just wondering how many people would use it though.

I seriously doubt you own a server with 8 Xeons. You would be paying a hell of alot of money for it.

A single Intel Xeon server with 2GB of RAM would set you back £125 a month ($250).

A VPS does not get access to all the power of the CPU(S). You only get a small share and you only get more if its not being used.

I think quite a number of people would use the service.
