I'd probably go for the first set, but it would depend on the subjects I'd have gotten the A/A*'s in.

Fair point spose, good thing bout all C's though is you show you generally good at everything

good part bout option 1 is you are ace in your strengths, but v bad in weaknesses depends what you wanna do as job i guess

Thinking it over, I'd definitely go for the first set as you could work on your not so popular subjects and gain knowledge in those departments, maybe work for a degree or whatever.
