no, you can either just recover your gamer profile then go to the marketplace blade account info then download history and redownload all your stuff
or if you phone microsoft up and tell them you baught the elite and want 2 transfer your stuff they send you a free transfer kit

Same all your data and stuff onto memory units. And then plug the units into the elite then transfer them onto your new console
