I will vote in general (national) elections, but havn't done in local ones.
I've done local ones, I still have no idea what you're meant to do. It's either a tick or a cross. I don't see why they can't mark any old mark as a registered vote.

Only in general elections.
Probably not, in my area it's very conservative, so my vote would either just strengthen that pointlessly if I voted them or be washed away as pointless if I voted anyone else, so no point.
Depends how the weather is. Cold, I probably wouldn't care. If it was a nice day and a pleasant walk to the polling station, maybe.
