In regard to CH's "DMCA Complaints"

Hi,

Lots of sites are now being threatened with DMCA Complaints by ClubHabbo because they are "stealing their material".

Unless your site has blantenly copied their site design, then fight it. If it's about your timetable being the same design/style as theirs, fight it even more.

They have no right trying to file a complaint over say 10x10 pixel sized images. They also have no proof they designed it first.

Make sure you make your host understand in full what they are doing isn't right and definately don't pay Ollie £10 or something stupid.

I know lots of people already know this, but some people might fall for it and actually pay Ollie money for something that isn't wrong.

I have just received one on BlueLightHost because aparently AirHabbo.com have stolen their timetable.

Suggestion: Boycott CH.

@Cheekykarl: I take it you'll ignore it? Seen as there's no actual copyright on ClubHabbo's timetable page and the fact that CH have to prove they coded the timetable in the first place, it's technically 100% legal for AirHabbo to reuse it. Either that or they're both using the same DJ panel. :rolleyes:

They HAVEN'T stolen their timetable, I plead you not to suspend their account.

If you're worried about your reputation as a host not complying with law, then simply ask Jack to edit the image(s) so that the inline glow colour used on the images (a light grey) is changed to a different colour.

The timetable that apparently most sites are ripping is a free one that got released long before clubhabbo had theirs up , I'm sure if someone searchs through all the threads here they'll find it , Ollie has no right trying to trick people into giving him £10 for something witch is free and licensed under freeware coding , Also what exactly have they 'ripped' , the Hex codes/ colour scheme ? Well as far as i'm aware you cannot copyright a colour scheme , the images used on the timetable are different to the ones on clubhabbo.

I have not ignored but i have have replied stating that without full valid proof that it was their content and their layout that i cannot do anything.

Also it is a different colourscheme so it just could be a coincidence.

Yeah, they are trying to fine sites that use similar images to theirs. It's not right.
