Right, im making a hosting panel

not somthing like cpanel, its for resellers/webhosts etc who want to make packages but dont have the time to continually edit the page, so its all automated & all you need to do is put the specs in the admin panel (demo here: http://rh4u.co.uk/admin, iv disabled user logins for the time being).
Iv got some ideas, and some stuff iv made
Also, can you give me some ideas as to what you would like to see in version 0.1?
    Made:
just the shared hosting add packages page atm
Auto updater/patcher - whatever you wanna call it

Also, i need to know if you would like it to automaticaly update if theres a new release OR you have to go to update.php, bearing in mind, the most voted for will get put in

    Thanks, Dominic

Interesting concept. I'd suggest it doesn't happen automatically, I am cringing at the amount of possible errors stemming from that...

But theoretically you would need to upload that file to upgrade it, yes? How would it update without that file?

Nope, grabs the file from my server, if its a higher version than the one that the user has, it will copy ALL the data from the update file to the clients files I spent yesterday doing it

I'm not terribly sure that would work on another server... AFAIK file_get_contents will only grab the HTML output of a file on another server. That's how I'm assuming you're doing it, anyway.

nah, it uses file_get_contents to update it & check the licence, but it grabs all the data from a text file
to see the temp update file: http://rh4u.co.uk/updates/hostingpanelatest_index.txt
then once youv seen that run http://rh4u.co.uk/admin/update.php

Oh, all right then. Still, I think you should go to update.php and update it there, rather than it happening automatically. People mightn't want to upgrade to the newest version straight away etc.
