how could I improve/add to them?

What is a Hero?
How we define the word hero has changed dramatically since it was first used in Greek mythology. The Greeks saw boldness, arrogance and divine family ancestry to be the traits of their hero. In the 21st century, a hero can be anything ranging from a firefighter working in a small town to an international celebrity. Because of this wide range we must ask ourselves, is the word hero too ubiquitous, has it’s meaning been diminished by overuse? We may refer to a friend as a hero if they do a small task for you, such as walk your dog for you when you are sick. In Greek mythological times, this would never occur, the word was rarely used and when it was, it had an unimaginable amount of power to it, the hero would probably go down in history and be known by masses, nowadays, rarely will the name of the everyday hero that protects us and provides us with so much be recognized.

One kind of hero that many people fail to recognize are the motivators and facilitators. In this category you would find parents and teachers as they give us motivation, inspire us and help us when we need assistance. Motivators and facilitators are in some ways paired. Once someone has motivation they may also need help. This is where the facilitators become heroes, they are not only someone who we look up to in admiration, but also the person who we rely on enormously to help us achieve and recognize what we are capable of.

I know it's pretty short atm, but I always find the introduction the hardest part to do, if you get me :}

It's nice. I'd make a reference to the definition of a hero through a dictionary.

For example: "Dictionary.com describes a hero as someone who shows great nobility and courage... etc. This can be shown through figures mentioned before because... etc".

Also try make reference to well known heroes. A very good example would be Atticus Finch from 'To Kill a Mockingbird' (If you've read the book, though any will do).

Decent start, keep it up!

I had to kinda re-arrange it today at school, my thesis had to be at the end of the paragraph, and I ended up putting a quote at the start of it, I can't remember what it said exactly, but it was something about a hero always becoming a hero by accident.

I like the atticus finch idea, I read to kill a mockingbird last year :}.

use long words

an examiner will just see right through an essay with long words that even they'll probably have to look up the definition. pretentious essays are not good.
