Default [THE BIG WEEKLY QUESTION] Best Of The Rest '07 - Best SinglePlayer Game

Oh harro thar. Yesterday saw release of Uncharted on the PS3, jesus christ it's epic. Definatley in my Christmas stocking this year. CoD4 is keeping me busy, it's so freckin' addictive.

Anyway, it's the time of year for sparta/ summarising. So every week I'll have an award to give for Best SinglePlayer, Multiplayer, Family and Overall GoTY.

This week it's the Singleplayer Game Of 2007. The contenders are...

    Ba-Ba-Baba-BioShock

A change in single-player experince. BioShock combines an enriching story with gameplay with all mixes of RPG, puzzler, shooter and more. A landmark in video gaming.
    Formats : PC/360

    Uncharted : Drakes Fortune

Uncharted combines the best visuals in video gaming, with Gears Of War inspired gameplay. An enriching tale and a couple of funnies make this a contender for the best single-player experince on the market

    Formats : PS3

    Super Mario Galaxy

After playing Super Mario Galaxy for 20 minutes I was hooked, but my friend said "Hey, it's like 10pm now". I'd been playing the game for 2 hours
I love this game, it's gameplay is just so brilliant and so free. It's like Super Mario 64 again, best graphics of a Wii game too.

    Formats : Wii

The Legend Of Zelda : Phantom Hourglass

This is under my tree this year, I've heard it is a awesomewintastic game. Especially if your travelling

Ratchet And Clank Future : Tools Of Destruction

Since I've only played the demo I can't judge for definate if this was a hit or not. But it was awesome anyway, one of the best looking games on the PS3 just had to be one of the best franchises in video gaming.

    Formats : PS3

    Half-Life 2 (Plus Episodes)

Probably the best first-person shooter ever created, Half-Life 2 made a benchmark with it's addictive gameplay and realistic physics. The graphics were at the prime when it was released and are still recognised to this very day.

Formats : PC, 360 (Orange Box), PS3 (Orange Box), Original Xbox

    Mass Effect

I played this last week, best RPG I've ever played. It's rumoured to go on PS3 but for now I won't mension it. A good story and great graphics make this a real contender.

    Formats : 360

My vote goes to BioShock, because it was a serious benchmark in literally everything. Even though I'll miss out on DLC, it was a heck of a ride.

Call of Duty 4 is multiplayer as well, that'll be in for next week don't worry.

I chose 2 Sony titles, 2 Microsoft titles, 2 Nintendo titles and a multiplatform title to make it fair (tried to)

    A few things

    1 - Half-Life 2 shouldn't be there because it didn't come out this year

2 - Why didn't you add Assassins Creed?

3 - Lol at this comment "It's rumoured to go on PS3 but for now I won't mension it." - Never gonna happen, chekced the publisher?

But anyway I picked Bioshock, haven't played the rest o.O

1 - It came out for the Orange box on PS3 and 360

    2 - Lol I forgot

3 - I just noticed that lolol. You can't expect a PS3 owner to research everything about a 360 game can you? Lol Microsoft Game Studios

EDIT : I got the thing from here - http://www.gamekult.com/, using my 'dazzling' french skills I found this

    Bioware confirme Mass Effect PS3

Yea..I have no idea what that says but it can't be true because Microsoft are the publishers, I highly doubt they'd let Sony have one of their most anticipated games

And Half-Life 2 as a game has been out for like 2 years or something so it shouldn't be listed really, Assassins Creed would of been the better choice because that's on the same consoles lol

I wanted to include something for PC gamers as well, because they got Episode Two this year aswell as us console gamers getting all slices of the cake. I totally forgot about Assassin's Creed, this whole thing was sort of rushed and I had to edit it just after to fit Mass Effect and Zelda on.

Edit : Oh sh- have I had my 2000th post already?
