Heya, not sure what your talking about but try websites such as wowhead.com or thottbot.com put in the name of the quest or the name of the NPC and they can tell you where you need to go. As for the gold, just worry about leveling for now, if your new ask someone if its a good deal 5 gold for a low level dagger sounds like alot so yea, ask some nice people

Get auctioneer. Scan the auction house daily for a few days running then look for items that auctioneer identifies as being lower than usual and sell it on for more. Profit in a few mins. But it's alot easier said than done.
