    Exclamation Habbo Ruins Lives.

I've spent about a year on Habbo Uk and have achieved nothing from it. Yes I have won a couple of comps here and there but Habbo in my opinion is a waste of time. Think about all the sad hours of your lives you've spent on your PC trying to be someone your not online. You may think it is a big life achievement to earn a throne, or own a super casino but really it isn't. In real life you have failed to achieve anything when you could be getting out and involved in sport, friends(real ones), music, fun and learning. You get hooked to Habbo and are made to spend money on a graphic created by sulake. You may think it is fun but all you are doing is staring at a screen in disbelieve when you meet a member of staff. Really they are just average people and if you passed them in a street, would you care.
I admit I've wasted away some of my life on Habbo and I really regret it. I could have learned guitar, got good at football, gone out with friends more than I did and taken school a lot more seriously. It's fun at the start and you go on it a lot - meet new "people" and "friends" but have you actually seen what they look like or even had a real conversation with them, unless they are your real life friends. Most likely no... Real friends are REAL life friends, you could be talking to anybody online.
Most of your real life friends won't go on Habbo and you would probably be embarassed if they found out you did.
So it's your choice - waste your life, or live life to the full and not on some
virtual world. Even though my time on Habbo has been fun, it doesn't even compare to real life.
It's ruined my life for a bit, don't let it ruin your's.

I've not just learned this but everyday I played it I felt a bit of guilt. I was really good at guitar and stuff and I could be even better if I'd gone off Habbo and sat with my guitar for the same ammount of time.

Some of my real life friends used to play Habbo in like 2005. But they left, I'm not sure what I think of Habbo anymore, it's fun, but it does seem to be going downhill quite fast. The hotel will always be the same, it's just the people on it that change the environment. Like a quote I heard "Habbo provides an already strong, rich, friendly and positive environment, but it's the teens themselves who write the script."

Hmmm, bit of a generalisation there. It hasn't ruined lives, it only does that if you take it seriously... You have achieved something from it, you have won competitions... What else do you want? A physical medal to show you and others that you've won such competitions/events? Again, most of what you've said ie. big achievement earning a throne is a bit of a generalisation, to most it's nothing and in reality it doesn't really show much. It depends entirely on how much you take Habbo seriously.

I have a few friends of whom I know in real life who go on Habbo with me, one I met only a few months ago through a friend who goes to University. I have a ife, and a small portion of it involves talking to friends and being socialble on or through Habbo, heck, you're talking to me/us on a forum which came to life through the media of Habbo...

REAL doesn't mean you know them in real life. To shorten real friends, you take away real and there you have it, friends. You can make friends on Habbo and you can make friends in real life, you don't have to have just one type of friend...

Real life is a primary, Habbo life is a secondary, think of it like that

You can learn the guitar etc while having a Habbo, you don't actually have to be on 24/7 and allow it to take over most of your life, only if you really have nothing better to do. It's a game for teenagers, not a different life you must live, afterall.

EDIT: That's weird... My paragraps have jumbled up, the real life is primary etc was the last bit :S

Gotta agree here. A couple of years back I got addicted really bad. Spent way too much time & money on it and it took getting hacked to finally make me break my addiction.

    Sad times.

I agree as a few of my friends went on but when they left and stuff it got rubbish but I kept going on. I find forums and alts and stuff a good use of time to share ideas and stuff but the game is such a waste.
