    Default My Greyhound

He's an 8 year old greyhound called Pilot, I've had him since April and he's been a star - except from emptying the bins a few times and chasing the odd squirrell...
Greyhounds make great pets so if you're considering getting a dog then I cannot recommend them enough!
Pilot is an ex-racer, he has 47 races and finished his last one lame. He recovered but was dumped as he could no longer compete with the younger dogs. The good thing about getting a greyhound is that you get their whole life history if they've been bred from other racing dogs. He traces back to 1820 to a dog also called Pilot, his father was called El Grand Sinor. What a name!
Anyway, here are a few pictures:

He stands at an impressive 30" as the shoulder but greyhound come in all shapes and sizes and tend to sleep for most of the day!
    Adopt a greyhound, they're great!

Thanks all ^_^ They're not hard work at all, Pilot sleeps 23 hours a day and when I take him out he just runs around madly and tires himself out. I love big dogs and the reaction people give to them, they're great fun!

I must say that is one impressive looking greyhound, one of the better ones i have seen at least. The fact that their history often comes with them is a pleasant idea, as it gives you the knowledge of where he or she originated from.

After This though, i must admit that a greyhound is not for me, if i ever got a dog i would have to choose a more 'cute' looking individual. =]

We were going to get a greyhound from the animal shelter which was an ex racer, the day before we were going to pick it up we got a phone call saying it had died! >.<
    Got two cats now though.
