If so, it means you can download the games, instead of buying them.
You still get achievements etc

flashing = putting a modifyed firmware on the dvd drive

all it does is let you play back ups ^
you will more than likely get banned sooner or later from playing online though

Someone who I know but hate [my mate was friends with him] got his 360 flashed and he got his games for like £2 and he could go on Live and everything - now, we set up a campaign 'Get Joe Banned' so he took this proper seriously and put his 360 in it's box and put it in the cupboard for 2 months. He's now trying to sell his XBL account with 20,000 illegit GS

Tbh, don't get it done.
I had mine chipped for quite long and only last weekened I got banned. It was worth it though. I just took it to gamestation and got a brand new box lol.
