Features Sarah Lancaster as a possible female timelord called Rani, Rani is the female equivalent of the Master apparently.

The Rani is a renegade Time Lady, an evil scientific genius whose villainy comes not from the usual variety of lust for power and suchlike, but from a mindset that treats everything (including morality) as secondary to her research; she has been known to enslave entire planets such as Miasimia Goria in order to have a ready supply of experimental subjects and a place to carry out her experiments uninterrupted.

But could she have been the Masters wife in Series 3, this is highly unlikely as Sarah Lancaster would've been brought in to play her to give some continuity, but it is still a possibility;

Near the end of the 2007 series finale "Last of the Time Lords", a female hand with red nail polish is seen picking up the Master's ring. In the podcast commentary of the episode, Russell T. Davies jokingly refers to it as "the hand of the Rani", and also states that they will not be picking up on that scene next year — he just put it in there to give any future production teams something to use if they want to bring back the Master.

But also in the trailer, you see the Doctor with 2 sonic screwdrivers, 1 could possibly be Ranis?

The close-up at the end could either be Davros or a Sontaran, its likely to be a sontaran as they were redesigned for 2008;

UNIT (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_...ence_Taskforce) could be back, as an encounter with some armed forces seem to be on the cards. UNIT have also been referenced many times in the modern series but haven't played a major part, the logo was redesigned a few series ago;

UNIT also made the Valiant, the floating station that the Master used in series 3.

As we already knew, Catherine Tate will be around for about half of series and Martha will possibly be around for the last 3 episodes or so.

The Ood are returning but probably not to any great effect, due to them being a slave race.

At least 1 episode seems to be set in Roman times.

Martha will have a partner and will be in 5 episodes, not 3 as previously thought.

Upon her return, according to Freema Agyeman in Dr Who Magazine 385, "She'll actually be in a relationship by that point, so that part of her soul is fulfilled," Freema hints

Doctor Who will run for a full 4th series and then only 3 episodes in 2009 and then a full 5th series in 2010. The following excerpt provides proof of recurring companians and old adversaries.

David Tennant is confirmed to star through to 2009. However, during the latter half of 2008, Tennant is committed to a Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet. After the 2008 Christmas Special, three Bank Holiday specials have been commissioned to air throughout 2009.[6][7] The programme will then return in 2010 with a fifth full series. Russell T Davies has suggested that the programme is expected to follow this pattern, of full series interspersed with occasional year-long breaks, for some time into the future.[8]
The Doctor will have three companions in the fourth series: Catherine Tate will reprise her role as Donna Noble, who was first introduced in "The Runaway Bride", for all 13 episodes;[9] Freema Agyeman (Martha) will return mid-season for five episodes,[10] and Billie Piper will return as Rose Tyler for three episodes.[11] Agyeman will also appear in three episodes of Torchwood.[12]
In the Doctor Who Confidential episode for "The Sound of Drums", Davies stated that it had always been his intention to bring back classic icons of Doctor Who one step at a time: Daleks in series 1, Cybermen in series 2, and the Master in series 3. He has also stated that he is not finished and will continue reviving villains from the original series

This already shows the christmas special as "4.x", bundling it with series 4 for convience, this also shows the Roman episode is about Pompeii (the volcano that devasted part of Italy), that there is a Ood Planet and a Sontaran episode.

BBC are making one episode in series 4 without the doctor. This will be where all 3 assistants of the doctor, Rose, Martha and Donna, work together to try and find the doctor, who is "lost in time".
