gaming profile?

when i got my xbox i made a profile called James and i have all my call of duty 4 and gears of war info on, but i got live now and how do i move my game info
to my new live account so i dont look like a total noob

Erm, I just connected because the name I used wasn't alredy in use. You could change your name. Im not to sure how I did it....

You should sign in to the 'James' profile, press Join xbox live, and it will change the profile name to your chosen gamertag. Thats when you first join Live, you need to join it on the profile you have the gamerscore on.

Which in my case is JamesH08 Its kinda annoying because if your Live/Internet dies you can't sign into your profile if your logged out.

you can, it will just sign you in as offline.
at the bottom it will say:
JamesH08 signed in
JamesH08 could not sign in to xbox live

Cool. What happens if a subscrition runs out? Does your profile name stay as your GamerTag, but it never mentions XBL?
