When you put your code on your account with the authentic code and stuff it should automatically give you 30 days on your account as a 'Thank you for purchasing World of Warcraft.'

That's one method of payment yes. As far as I know though, you don't have to enter a payment method to be eligible for the free 30 days time. That's more of a thanks for Blizzard from buying the game. Can't say for certain though, I authenticated my account long time ago .

Yeah as mat said. There are two ways of payment. Using a CC and using a Game card. .

Well I only got the game about a week ago and I had to put in credit card or game card, so you should be fine with the card.
