Xbox live Connection Help +Rep

Ok I am using an ethernal cable to use the internet anmd to connect to xbox live. I pluuged the cable into the port and dit didnt work. After numerous attempts I tryed to acces the internet via the Ethernal cable and internet. The internet on the computer is working perfectling and I am ujsig the very same cable and router. However I cannot cpnnect to XBL
