I'm not going to use real names in this so meh

I have a best mate called 'Mike' we've known each other for a couple of years now it was really weird actually because he's one of these guys who listens to all the heavey metal stuff and I listen to the cheesy stuff thats normally in the charts. But meh we hit it off as friends really quickly and soon became best mates. Anyway about six months ago Mike stopped hanging out with me and generally our whole group of mates and started disapearing during break times. We soon found out he'd got together with 'Molly' which I had no problem with as I didn't really know her.

When he first started going out with her I really wanted to get to know her but for some reason Mike never told us where he was going and when I can only assume they were either doing something private or he just felt embarresed. Soon enough he started skipping lessons and the ones he did come to he either mucked about in or stopped me working so I could help him catch up. Eventually I had enough and told him straight he needed to stop skipping lessons as I was concerned as his friend. He still carried on skipping lessons and stopped listening to his music to avoid 'embarrising' her. One day he asked me to send him my work though lol...I snapped and had a huge hissy fit at him.

So yeah he started coming to lessons again because according to him 'Molly told him he had to' yeah obviously had nothing to do with me did it :rolleyes: Anyway a couple of months past and he hadn't really mentioned her at all and he had started hanging out with us during break times again he soon confessed he wanted her to dump him so he wasn't going to bother go and see her at all.

She obviously didn't dump him because it was a matter of days before I was invited by them both to her house for a party. I went to that party ready to argue with her but when I got there she seemed very nice and I walked away thinking maybe I was wrong about her she seemed ok. I went to a few more of her parties and every time I thought she seemed to be a very nice person. That was until one day Mike came to class all angry because apprently Molly told him another one of our friends had been spreading rumours about her..

The person she accused was usally a very nice guy and if he had done what she said it would have been very out of character... So I found that abit iffy but I can't really say for sure she was making it up because I obviously wasn't there so meh.. But what urged me to type this all out today why now??

Well the tuesday just gone Mike and I had arranged to meet in town I arrived at the time we agreed and waited for ten minutes and he still hadn't arrived so I txted him asking him where he was... I got a txt back saying 'sorry Dan over slept be there as soon as I can' so I was like meh ok I'll wait. I waited for at least half an hour and he still hadn't arrived so I txt him again asking him again where he was he said 'sorry theres so much traffic around I'll be there soon' so again I waited another half an hour I don't know why but I suddenly thought 'I bet he's at Molly's house' so I txt him saying 'Mike if you're at Molly's house please stop taking the pee and lying to me' I got a txt back saying 'ok as you're my best friend I won't lie I am at her house she's not well she didn't want me to leave her'

I was sooooooooooo mad I just went home the next day he was all apoligetic and we arranged again to meet in town today. So I turn up again at the time we arranged I stood there for twenty minutes and decided to go walk around the shops after another half an hour I decided to ring him I asked him where he was and again he said 'sorry mate I'm round Molly's house' I just hung up I had enough....

I feel so let down, kind of hurt and annoyed if I'm supposed to be his best mate like he keeps reminding me surely he shouldn't be taking the pee like this maybe I'm blaming the wrong person maybe it's not her fault it's his or maybe I'm to clingy as a friend meh I don't know but I've had enough....

Mate, personally I think that she's taking control over him. I get the feeling he does want to be with you. But this girl, he doesnt want to loose either but he really doesnt know what to do so he lies. Then you make him feel he can be honest so he does. So yeh your peed of. So you should. Be straight, say, "Mike" your letting me down EVERY time, i can understand if you like molly, i dont have a problem with that. Just you dont seem to want to be around me anymore because you want to be with her, i dont want you to choose sides, just i dont feel that i can trust for you to be the same old mike and not let me down. So if you want us to be as good friends as we always have been i sujest you get your act together and be a better friend, its your choice.
So yeh say that, and he should be not gobsmacked but it might hit him and realize what he needs to do.

Just tell him that he needs to stop lying, i would be annoyed too if my friend kept lying about stuff like that, if he's acting this way i dont think he's acting old/mature enough for a relationship

Do the same to him in a way? To make him feel how you feel..
If he doesn't ring/txt you saying where are you im waiting or something like that imo he's not worth being a friend. Then comes Plan B which was said above

I tried doing that before and it did work for like a couple of weeks now we're back to the normal 'all our plans revloves around whats in Molly's diary...' =[ thanks for your advice though =)

When I tell him to stop lying he says to me 'you'll understand when you're in a proper relationship we have to lie because we want to see each other so much' that statement pisses me off Yeah fair enough I haven't been in a proper 'serious' relationship but I'm not dumb ,why does he need to lie to me its annoying -_- today again he didn't meet with me because he says he was Ill but I know he was at her house last night so I'd put money on him being at her house.

I kind of agree with you I'd never let a girl get in the way of friendships.. =]

I also got peed off yestaday while we were supposed to be taking a PC apart he was chatting to her over MSN I had no idea what I was doing so had to keep asking our teacher... and when I said to him 'erm come on we need to finish this' he got all stressed because apprently he was helping her with her homework pfffft :rolleyes:
