    Default Launch of New Train

French President Nicolas Sarkozy has unveiled a new high-speed train that will have the potential to reach speeds of around 224mph.

It's apparently powered by engines under each carriage. Sounds like quite the machine! Can't really imagine going that fast on ground.

haha that must have cost a bomb to make.

224 would be crazy, especially if it tilted round corners like them virgin ones do

Aye. I'm guessing it only hits that speed on reaaaallyy straight bits of track.

The point is though, that French train will reach that. Not like on UK railways where we can't even go full speed on them virgin trains as our tracks are not even ready for it.

224mph isn't anything new I don't think? The current TGVs have hit 357mph

Virgin Voyagers (Class 220's and 221's) have engines under each carriage .

224 sucks. Why can't they fit Veyron engines to trains?

wow I'd be packing my pants if I was on a train going that fast
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

Aye me too at first. I guess you'd get used to it. Would probably be pretty weird looking out of the window at first.
