    Default Cutenews Replacement

I have heard about the security flaws etc. recently discovered on cutenews so I don't want to open the new version of my site until I have found a decent replacement.

Is there any more free news systems, similar to cutenews, that I would be able to use? Or would I have to pay?

Cutenews is apparently fine as long as you make it secure youself.

    Just that one file?

Or is there more ways to make it secure?

I just don't want to releas the new version of my site if there is a security flaw, thats all.

Yes you just need to delete that file as the way the attack is dispatched is by them using the search.php file to search through the accounts registered along side SQL injection which shows their MD5 encrypted password.
There are several way of securing it without deleting the search.php file but it's more complicated (Google it!)
