Default Have you had a ghostly encounter?

I'm still very much a skeptic when it comes to ghosts, but this one time I was waiting for a train and it was pretty misty and I couldn't see much. An old guy comes running past on the opposite platform, and he just seemed to run so incredibly fast/float across it was weird.

No, but friends and family have told me of experiences they've had.

I don't know, I've seen "things" from the corner of my eye that seemed to have some sort of ghosty figure, so to speak but that could be anything. I won't believe it until it comes and slaps me in the face.

Some nurses on my mums ward, went for a nap in the linen room, and 2 of them woke up because they felt some one rolling on them, but when they woke up no one was there.
And once a medicine pot landed in front of some one, but it landed as if some one placed it there.

Apparently when i was younger, i used to go into my mums room in themornign and tell her what the man at the end of my bed said.
My parenst just thought i was imagining things. But when we moved out a medium person (someone who sees ghosts) moved in and felt something wierd, and it turned out there was a spirit of a man who used to live in the house... When my aprenst think back the room did used to go really cold but we always ignore it.

And now everywhere i go i always feel someone is there and i always see shadows and things out the corner of my eye.....

So i do very much belive in ghosts and spirits...

Yes I do I think my house is haunted... I once felt someone poke me in the back but no one else was in the house, My brother once had a dream a black hooded figure was holding him down by the shoulders and when he woke up he couldn't move it was only him shouting that woke us all up and it wasn't until my mum entered the room he was realeased. There are some others but they only happened when we first moved into this house five years on these things have stopped now so it may have been us not being used to this new strange home or maybe we've been accepted by the spirets I guess we'll never know
I’ll be a story in your head, but that’s okay, because we’re all stories in the end. Just make it a good one, eh? Because it was, you know. It was the best. A daft old man who stole a magic box and ran away. Did I ever tell you that I stole it? Well, I borrowed it. I always meant to take it back. Oh, that box, Amy, you’ll dream about that box. It’ll never leave you. Big and little at the same time. Brand-new and ancient and the bluest blue ever. And the times we had, eh? Would had…Never had. In your dreams, they’ll still be there. The Doctor and Amy Pond and the days that never came.

To be entirely honest, I think the concept of a ghost is impossible. When you die, you die. Game over. Saying that you come back as a spirit isn't that plausable - How many people in the world have died? Wouldn't it be a little... crampt? Just think of Africa, and all the people that die there daily.

Mostly I think it's just you wanting to believe it, and as such you do believe it. Take for example the dream one - It's not that hard to wake up and think that your dream has actually happened, as that's just your brain playing away whilst you're asleep.

Besides that, if it's a spirit and they're dead or whatever... how is it even remotely possible you'd be able to feel anything they do to you... (inbetween them knocking into the 500+ billion other dead people, all pushing and proding you at the same time)

On a side note though, more or less backing down on everything I just said, when my grandad died in a car crash a few years back, the first time I slept at his house after his death, I dropped my phone on the floor. When I picked it up, a full telephone number had been entered (which most deffinatly wasn't there at the time of dropping, as the keypad was locked). I phoned the number, and it didn't accept incoming calls - I checked on the internet for what the number was for a few weeks, found nothing. I guess it could of been "luck" that it hit the floor and typed in 11 numbers, with a correct Leeds area code and a working phone number, or it could of been something else.

Either way though, I standby my first comment, and as much as we're made to believe - I don't.

Being scared of people, is more needed then dead people. Real people hurt, dead ones don't.

I'm happy to debate what I just said, as it's an interesting topic.

Also my mum used to say my sister (as a baby) used to act pretty perculiar when she was alone, like reaching out and grabbing the air saying hello as if she was speaking to someone.
