Has anyone heard of/played/currently play this?

I found it just by chance a few days ago, signed up for a 14 day free trial, downloaded the client etc. I must say its an amazing game.

For a bit of background info:

    - set in space
    - can choose from 4 races
    - can choose different blood lines
    - can chose a 'homeworld'
    - can train different skills and abilities

    and loads more

and no matter what combination you pick, the chances of 2 people picking exactly the same combination of the last 4 things mentioned above must be very rare, and depending on the combinations you pick, it will have an effect on the overall gameplay.

I really would recommend it, especially if you like WoW and similar games, the subscription prices seem a bit steep, but when you look at the 1000s of different options that are available to you in the game, it seems well worth it.

there are a few downpoints though - you can only train 1 skill at a time, however all you have to do is select the skill, right click and select "train skill to level x (x being the next level up) and you can leave it and go off and do missions or whatever. though the levels take about 2 hours at level 1-2...then as you progress, the time it takes to level gets a lot bigger - by that i mean days.

as for the graphics, they are reasonably good for an online game. if you choose to try it out, the opening video thing that sets the scene is really interesting, it was that alone that really had me wanting to play the game

visit www.eve-online.com if you want to check it out

so yeah...i'll leave this open for discussion :eusa_danc

Played it for about 5 days then it got boring. Every single quest is just a variant of a few quests and it takes ages to learn new skills. Mining in EVE has been the single most boring experience in the whole of my gaming history.

You really should play EVE before making assumptions like that. The concept is different, and the gameplay bears almost no similarities. :p

its nothing like it. its not a browser & text based mmorpg. it has a proper client that you download.
