    Default Lost Planet: Colonies info

    Just some info on the new Lost Planet game, now I've read this I'll wait for the release of this version of the game, no point buying the current version really
    No new SP campaign, no expansion on the SP campaign, just new maps, new guns, new SP and MP game modes and player models, it's a shame it's not a sequel but oh well

    So, there is some confusion as to what this game truly is. 1UP got a pretty good preview and outlined basically what is going on. This is an "updated" version of the game, so it is the same single player campaign; however, it will have many new modes, maps and other great features. It won't recognize your original game save, unfortunately; you'll have to start from scratch with this one. Here's the rundown of everything, but you can read the original report from 1UP here.

    3 New Single Player Modes

    * Score Attack (sort of like The Club, everything is worth points)
    * Trial Battle Mode (fight all the bosses in a row)
    * Off Limit Mode (stronger weapons, better agility and unlimited ammo)

    6 New Multiplayer Modes

    * Akrid Hunter (1 player as a giant Akrid, everyone else against him/her)
    * VS Annihilator (sort of like VIP from Halo)
    * CounterGrab (remember the Data Posts? activate those the longest)
    * Point Snatcher (deathmatch, but the winner is the one with the most thermal energy)
    * Akrid Egg Battle (CTF, but capturing eggs instead of flags)
    * Egg Bandit (a variant of Akrid Egg Battle)

    4 New Multiplayer Maps

    * Crossfire City (caters to the V-suits and sniping)
    * Area 921 (two compounds and an underground)
    * Lost Arena (caters to V-suits and large battles)
    * Assault Ship (set in space)

    9 New Player Models

    * 2 Females
    * 2 Robots
    * 5 Others

    4 New Player Weapons

    * Hand Gun
    * Revolver
    * Flame Launcher
    * Hand Cannon

    4 New V-Suit Weapons

    * Pile Bunker
    * VS Rifle
    * Rocket Pod
    * Laser Lance

    Other Info

    * 1000 New Achievement Points!
    * Cross-Platform Play vs. PC Users!
    * All this for only $29.99!

    Edit - For PS3 users I think you would have to exclude the 'Other Info' bit because you wont have achievements, as far as I'm aware PS3 can't play against PC and I would guess the price would be a bit higher due to the blu-ray disk being used

    Since I was interested in Lost Planet for my PS3 I was gonna get it but then along came Awesome of 2. I might pick this out of the bargin bin when I get a 360, over than that I'm not bothered.

    The Boss Trial thing and Akrid v. human sounds fun
