Walker Finds Headless Corpse

A man's headless, armless body has been found near a garage in Hertfordshire.

Police search the scene

The gruesome discovery was made by a member of the public walking in Ickleford, near Hitchin.
Police have cordoned off the area and a forensic investigation has begun.
The identity of the victim is not known, but police in the area have been searching for a man abducted from his vehicle last month.


John Finney, who is 42, was dragged from his Mitsubishi Shogun on February 29 and the vehicle was later abandoned in Northaw.
Mr Finney is a member of a well-known travelling family. Relatives had been helping the police search to locate him.
A police spokesman said the Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Major Crime Unit was now conducting forensic examinations and searches around the site of the discovery.
"Police received reports from a member of the public that a body had been found," the spokesman said.
