Hi,

It's got potential. To improve, I'd suggest not making the corners so round and removing the 'shaddow' between the banner and the content box. Perhaps if you make the banner area a gradient, also?

It's pretty awful if you ask me, have a look at some good (professional) splash pages such as flockey.com
