Brain surgery with a DIY Drill

In ukraine a brain surgeon operates with a £30 Do It Yourself drill instead of the £30000 compressed air medical drill normally used because they can't afford it. Can you belive that? I certainly wouldn't like it if they used a £30 drill if I needed any brain surgery
