Default Rule against creating polls on an issue disccused in a thread?

Last i remember there were rules about bumping older topics, so it was deemed a good idea to create a new one. It was also coincided a poll was different from a thread, to the extent some big threads had polls created specifically for them.
That is part of the reason polls exist after all.

So, why is it my poll on religious beliefs (http://habboxforum.com/showthread.php?p=4558063) gets closed, because there is a discussion that took place on a similar topic (similar not the same)

This doesn't really make sence to me, because someone has talked about 2 tv programs means im no longer allowed to create a poll to see which is favourite?
Because someone talked about which super hero ability's would be coolest to have, you can no longer have a poll to pick the favourites?
Topics on similar themes are no longer allowed?
When did all this suddenly jump in to the rules, i've read them and have yet to come across it?

I would have liked to see what results i would get, as well of, of cause continue the relevant discussion in my poll, but due to these (seemingly none existent) rules, i dont get to do this, because 5 days ago someone created a topic about god as well. I always though religion as the massive area it is could easly stand to be talked about in differnt contexts.
    Am i wrong?

I really do not agree with this judgement, and dont really understand where it comes from? Is this a simple mistake, or some horrible mess up in the rules surrounding thread/poll creation on habbox?

<The Mod in this issue has been very helpful and answered questions, so no blame towards him. Im just interested to see where this whole thing is coming from>

(please post if you've had similar experiences)

Might I add that both the topics were entitled 'do you believe that there is a God' (or along those lines) hence making them the same and there was no poll on the topic at the time of closure.

the no poll bit is an easy mistake, the obvious action would be to immediately revert the action on noticing?

Also the questions were quite difference, despite the word god appearing in both of them. Mine refer to belief in god/gods/deitys, as in between theistic/atheistic though on the issue. The previous refers to knowledges of gods, which refers to religious experience and scientific verification or a boolean proposition. You can only know something when its true, there is a yes and no. After all its belief on whether there IS. not whether its belief In. belief has a spectrum and doesn't require knowledges and exists on a whole scale of its own, so two very differnt questions are really being proposed.
Words are all words, but have very differnt meanings and implications attached to them "/

Secondly even without a difference, the poll is significant enough in itself.

Your thread and the other persons thread were exactly same ( Do you believe in god(s)) except yours had a poll?

Could the threads not have been merged so the poll was still up and running? i have not seen the threads so could not judge if they could be merged or not.

I think it would have been nice to merge it with the other instead of just lock it. maybe find another forum it could fit in a re post it? it seems my thread on the debating is very similar to the one posted by partie2
    http://www.habboxforum.com/showthread.php?t=465564
so maybe mine will be closed soon

Totally agree Mentor there is a great deal of difference in the threads - yours comes from a much deeper perspective and different angle than the other thread. Seriously this should not be happening - it is a very legitimate thread in its own right. I think if somebody does not understand that whilst questions/new threads may look the same there is a world of difference they should ask for guidance because it looks like it has been looked at superficially as if its another thread on the new habbo rare. Common sense is what is needed not running around in what appears to be a gung ho fashion. Hope they re-open it for you.

You can't deny that most of the replies would be like 'been posted mate' though.

Well if you close threads because people have not got the intelligence to
tell the difference then what's the forum come to:S People posting that
should be edited for pointless posting. As I said it's not the Habbo Section
