External screen helpage...

Hello..im on a laptop and iv got my old old plugged into the laptop .. on the laptop screen and other screen its showing same thing and it only says there one screen..

I dunno what your actually trying to do, but on Vista it would display both screens, where (i think) you can change the resolution of both screens. But your on XP so im not sure, and why does it matter if you've got it up and running?

No.. its i have 2 screen plugged in and it only thinks 1 is in or it would show 2 screens on that page.. then i can set it as external..
