    Arrow Revision..

Hey, with my GCSE's coming up this summer I need to start revising as soon and as much as possible to get the grades that I want. I could probably scrape all C's if I wanted to without revising but I want to do better.

The thing is I just can not sit down and revise, I know revising isn't meant to be fun but I can't sit down and do it no matter how hard I try.

Also, if anyone done a language at GCSE what did you find was the best way to help prepare you for the oral examination.

I will give all useful answers +rep, thanks!

I'm terrible at revision, I kept saying "I'll do it later" and did all my revision like the week before my GCSE's. I ended up getting 2A's, 2B's, 3C's and a few more.

    Different methods suit different people

People who are more creative may prepare a "picture" method to learning such as mind maps or drawing a picture related to the subject.

People who think more logical tend to like to read their notes over and over again, write them out (which is what I do) or just say things over and over.

The best advice I can give is try out different methods and find one which you find more comfortable.

The timetable thing didn't work for me as it came to a time where I would study French and I actually felt like studying Drama, so heyho. Give yourself a treat after you done a lot of studying and if you feel like you have achieved a lot.

Also the number 1 tip of all: DO NOT GET STRESSED OVER IT!!!! Also try not to leave all studying to the night before xx

Stick Sticky Notes around the places you go most in your house with little facts on or questions.

When you get to know the fact or able to answer the question take it away and then eventually you should be able to take them all away.

Even if you don't do it around the house but just in your bedroom can work as well. Like if you have a TV/Computer in your bedroom stick one of the hard questions/fact on the TV/Computer and every time you go to switch the TV/Computer on, you will see that fact or question and it will help you remember. Once it's stuck in your head you can get rid of it.

That's what I'm going to be doing next year anyway as it an unusual way and not boring and you're not taking in too much at once.

Good luck revising and with your exams anyway!

oh and i tried doing sticky notes, they fall off, so just use like posters from p.e [if your healthy and do p.e] and stick those on your wardrobe and either do like all the skeleton bone things or say which piece of clothing will go where on your body.

[i know im cool right.. this why it take me so long to get dressed]

but yeah other then that sticky notes don't really help that much.

take this to find out which type of learner you are.

its a bit wierd but oh well

I have awarded all replies with +rep, thanks a lot. I'm going to try writing a time-table and then for the lessons I find it hard to revise for I plan to draw some mind-maps to revise from.

I'm healthy and don't do PE as although it's easy and i'm alright at it, it doesn't interest me. Mandatory PE is fine for me.
