Lag when signed in to Messenger

Hey,

When I sign into messenger on my Xbox my friends list and all dashboard things in general lag and go really slow, like it takes 2-3 minutes to respond sometimes, but when I sign out of messenger it's fine.

I have 77 XBL friends and 688 Messenger contacts, could this be a problem? And does anyone else have this problem?

688 messenger contacts is a lot, especially if a lot of them are online, I get about 2-3 seconds of lag and I have about 40 messenger contacts, so if you have over 600 I guess thats understandable and would be a suitable explanation.

I'd either change the Windows live ID associated with your gamertag or remove some messenger contacts. What I would definitely try is go to the page on Xbox guide which displays your contacts, press 'Y' and it'll hide the messenger contacts, that should help a bit. Then press 'Y' to show them again only when need be.

Its Not Just Messenger. Its The Xbox Guide. It Lags Anyway. We Cant Help That. Blame Microsoft.

Mine always lags on Msn, it happens for everyone.

ye. i had like 200 on my msn and it took a while to load.

so i just made a new msn and used it for my xbox live

Yeah, I've got like 800 and I can't even sign into MSN. It isn't worth it.
