Yes you buy 1GB and add it in. Run a scan on www.crucial.com/uk to find out what RAM you need and post the results on here.
I just did, found out the 1GB is made up of two 512 slotsYes you buy 1GB and add it in. Run a scan on www.crucial.com/uk to find out what RAM you need and post the results on here.
# Maximum Memory: 4096MB
# USB Support: 2.x Compliant
# Chipset: Intel 945PM
# Standard Memory: 1024 or 2048MB removable
# Slots: 2 (2 banks of 1)
The 2gb ram from crucial is two 1GB sticks, so i assume i can't buy a seperate 1GB and add it in?
Each memory slot can hold DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 2GB per slot.*Well if you bought a 1GB module you'd remove one of the 512MB modules, making 1.5GB in total. The only way for you to have 2GB would be to remove the two 512MB modules and replace them with two 1GB modules.
Out of interest, what type does it say the RAM in there already is? PC-number e.g. PC-6400.
and go for crucial
