Not unless the sim card is in a phone. On it's own it's just like a piece of plastic.

Dont see why not, if it is possible to do so. Unless the card has to be in the phone.

The card does have to be, when a text is sent its sent across the mobile network, something has to pick it up or it gets deleted eventually

    Yh you can do that.

Like if you dont have a sim card in your phone ( a registerd one ) and then receive a message as soon as you put it in your phone you get thi thing saying, you have a new text.

it doesn't need to be in a phone, providing it's possible to check your messages online.

Aslong as the number is registered and hasn't expired - All should be fine and you shouldn't have to put it in a phone.

    Trial and error.
