Default Teen murder witness comes forward

Police investigating the murder of a teenage boy in south-east London have said a key witness has come forward.

The witness, a middle aged white man, has contacted police in relation to the death of Jimmy Mizen who was the victim of an unprovoked attack in Lee on Saturday.

The 16-year-old was in the Three Cooks bakery near his home when he refused to take part in a fight.

The attacker then smashed down the shop door and picked up an advertising board which he wielded inside.

"Gentle giant" Jimmy, who had gone out to buy his first Lottery ticket after celebrating his 16th birthday on Friday, died from fatal neck injuries at the scene in front of his brother.

He is the 13th teenager to be violently killed in London this year.

This is yet another very sad story of a young person being killed. I hope they find the killer and throw away the key. It seems to me the punishments given out to these murderers isn't severe enough. We need stronger deterrents put in place.

They should give out the names of these killers and stop being lenient because of their age. Discrimination is apparently wrong, so why is it used in the judicial system? People should be punished based on their crime not their age.

I was stunned by this because I drew alot of similarances between him and myself. He played rugby, he was described as a gentle giant etc and it just made me think that couldda been me. Its horrible to think he was beaten to death even though he sounds like such a peaceful person.

The murderer should be left to starve in a cell

    yeh
definately sounds like a peaceful person. the whole reason he got into trouble was because he refused to take part in a fight. such a shame, it really is.

This is sick, the guy smashed through a shop window, slit his throat and then ran away for him to die in his brother's arms. I'm not the most sensitive of people - I can watch people getting kicked in the balls and all those sorts of viral videos that go around - but this is actually disgusting.

Indeed, I think they should build prisons which only give them a bed and a toilet, not these other prisoners that have TV, books etc. Chuck them in there and forget about them until they need cleaning out
