Default Age Rating system for video and game downloads

"Age ratings for downloaded video content and video games are to be introduced in the UK."

Seems like a kinda crap idea tbh. If parents don't want their children viewing something then it should be up to them to install filtering programs.

Yeh i just read that before you posted

imo, you cant stop anybody typing in a false age unless you check the public records against the data typed.

    This will never work.

Do you think Microsoft will not allow people under the age of whatever to download game content?

    HA!

hmm, in that it said iplayer may be doing and: http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/page/it...html?src=ip_lc

im guessing thats the sort of thing they mean? but its a bit stupid. I really dont like age laws on games and video content because people are trying to encourage free will and i think this comes under this category. Parents should have the ultimate decision in what their children do and if they want to allow them to watch/play 18 rated things then thats completely upto them. Stupid rule but tbh, by the time everythings in place ill be 18 so haha
