Computer generated child abuse to be banned

Drawing and computer generated pictures of children (Hentai) which show kids being sexually abused is to be banned under a new law coming in. Obviously child pornography is already illegal for various reason's and rightly so as it really lets down society and cripples the victims etc. However 'Cartoon' images don't harm anyone, surely if more of this was made then they'd be less need for pictures of the real thing and then it wouldn't happen as much.

I don't mean to come across sick or perverted here or anything so don't get me wrong, however if these people had lots more cartoon images then they wouldn't need to find pictures of it actually happening.

I think you'd have to be wrong and perverted to get aroused by abuse and children in the first place, cartoon or not, however the government can never stop people being aroused.

It's surely doing the opposite if they're banning harmless cartoon versions of it? Like I said, it'll just encourage more of the real thing. Just wondered your thoughts cause I think this is a bad move and more children will suffer

I completely agree. If these sickos have an alternative then they won't look for the real thing. I think that it is perhaps better that they are seeking their sick fetish in cartoon images rather than the real thing... so I think more kids will suffer.

But no MP is going to speak out against it because of how it'll look.

I think that's perfectly acceptable. As long as the law focuses only on commercial use then it's okay. People producing these images should still be allowed to do it privately.

Exactly, its stupid. It's like you can't call a yob a yob anymore.. it's stupid and I agree with the other posts that cartoons should be allowed.

If it's not hurting anyone who cares? Although people could still do it anyway. I wouldn't exactly call it wrong of them to be turned on by children - people can't help their sexual preferences, as any homosexual would forthrightly say, though I don't deem it right. Doing that is better than the real thing.

yea I think that atleast they have an alternative, and as someone had said already people cant help what turns them on but atleast with the cartoons they dont have to go looking for the real thing
