They've offically announced the 8th Expansion for The Sims 2:



New Features:

Ceilings ~


Spiral Staricases ~


Venting Objects ~


New Places:

A New neighbourhood called "Belladonna Cove" to honor Bella Goth. The neighbourhood includes a giant statue of Bella Goth ~


Magic:

This expansion pack will include Magic and the creature to match are witches/wizard ~

Whens it out?

I knew it would either be Superstar/Making Magic theme from original Sims 'cos they're the only ones left that hadn't been on sims 2 tbh. But didn't think it'd be magic combined with something.

So basically, its a similar concept to the Dorm Rooms in University EP where you claim rooms and stuff.
