Default Tiger mauls zookeeper in Japan to death

A Siberian tiger mauled to death a zookeeper on Saturday in western Japan who had been trying to encourage the animal to mate, a zoo official said.A horrified visitor to the Kyoto City Zoo reported to management that the 150-kilogramme (330-pound) tiger had pounced on zookeeper Atsushi Ito, an official said.
Zoo authorities shot the tiger with a tranquiliser gun and rushed Ito to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead from serious injuries to his head, face, neck and hands.
Ito, 40, had been trying to couple the tiger with a three-year-old female tiger.
The zoo, the second oldest in Japan, was shut down on Saturday. It has launched an investigation into the incident.
In 2005, a white bear attacked and seriously injured another keeper at the zoo.

It's his own fault. They can mate in their own time.

No it isn't, he's just doing his job and that's what he's been told to do.

Some Tiger's are endangered species so they desperately need them to mate, it can be harder in captivity and they're just encouraging it, they're not forcing them.

Yeah, some Tiger's are endangered but they don't need that much encouragement. No, I don't know everything about Tiger's but I've seen plenty of documentaries regarding big cats, some that were based around the more endangered types. They left them to it, it's not as if they're going to animal was going to die anytime soon, maybe the keeper didn't take check of it's behaviour before he decided to go through with the job at hand. For people to blame the animal is ridiculous.

It's like if someone tried to force you to have sex with someone else you'd probably bat them.
