Default This is the biggest load of crap ive ever heard

My school are paying £250 per student per term to learn latin outside of school. This is the most crap ive ever heard. To be selfish and give some students the opportunity to learn an unused and crap language, when we already have 3 languages taught at my school is utter crap. They are taking as many people as they want so it could end up being £10,000 or even more per year, and its a 2 year course. I think its soooooo stupid and the money could be better spent.

Although, they did ask me if i wanted to do it, i would have gone for it (i spose) if i was any good at languages (lol cant believe they asked me).

So yeah, they could have spent the money better.

Good on them, why let a language die? Unless it's a useless one, which Latin isn't.

It is. Latin is like english and french's 400 year old great great grear great great great grear great great great grear great grandfather, kept on life support. Just let it die "/

Although learning it would be quite fun, I know someone who was teaching themselves latin, and she found it interesting finding out where words changed in different languages, and where it was used.

Your school might be like my college, the government gives the college money and they have to provide us with an extra GCSE exam, being general studies or citizenship.
