So basically Blu-ray discs have more storage capacity? or am I missing something?

Yep, they have alot more. The single layer blu-ray disc is only 5gb short from the HD-DVD dual layer disc, but I am sure blu-ray discs can also come with 5 layers, so not sure if that page is entirely accurate.
