Ok im sounding stupid but i cant figure it out how portgual have won Group a.


Portugual are on 6 points and have For : 5 and Agaisnt : 1 on goal difference

Czech have 3 points and have For : 2 Against :3 on goal diffence

If swissland were to beat portgual 4-0 or something and czech best turkey 4-0 it would mean czechs lead on goal difference and have less goals concened.

So in theory coulnt czechs top the group tonight?

Portugal beat the Czech rep and Turkey. The only teams that could catch Portugal were Czech Rep and Turkey but Portugal have beaten Czech rep and Turkey therefore no team could catch them. They could level them on points but Portugal have beaten them both.
