Petal Patch Price Predictions

Hey everyone, i just wanted to make this article about the petal patch, because it's the first time the Staff have confirmed that an item of furni will never be released again in to the catalogue.

I've been discussing what will happen to the value of the petals with my friends, and people in various casinos. I'll list all the theories and predictions I have drawn out:

Please note: These are only theories. Please don't say some contradict because they're not all coming from one person - these are the different possible theories that I have studied.

If you have your own theory, why not post it? The theories are all open to discussion - you can post whether you agree/disagree with them.

I obviously don't believe all of the theories because they contradict.

#1. "Since it's impossible to get the petals in the catalogue ever again, I think they'll carry on going up in value, like most rares"

#2. "I think the Staff will be sneaky and release loads in competitions and keep generating more - because they only said it wasn't going to be released in the catalogue".

#3. "It's the same with every rare - once it's out of the catalogue, people assume it won't ever come out again. I think a lot of the current rares won't ever be released again, and they don't need a confirmation for that. And yet they stay on at the same value for years. I think the petal will stay at the same value - perhaps go up slightly over time."

#4. "Most people don't want petals to go up in value. A petal on its own is pretty useless, so most people want them in batch (usually 28). So I think people will try and keep it low so that petal trading is available for most people, not just the rich people."

#5. "The petal patch is of high demand. Over time, people who posess petals will quit/get banned/delete stuff accidentally (like me). So they'll become harder to find, therefore they'll go up in value. Since they can't come out again, they'll go up pretty high."

#6. "I've already noticed that petals are being sold for less than the habbox value. And these are common succesful trades. When the petals came in to the catalogue for the last time, there was mass purchasing of petals. Credit values even went up for that week. HCs had gone down from an average of 14-15 to 11-12, because people wanted to get petals instead of HCs. I think there are so many petals around, the abundance of petals will keep the petal value low."

#7. "After the petal came out, all the other patches came out one by one. The Staff claimed that none of them would be released again. When the patches all came out at first - people said they would shoot up - but they haven't. I think people don't treat them as special furniture, they treat them like what they are - things to cover the floor. Hardly special eh?"

#8. "The petal is significantly more valuable than the patches at the moment. This is evidence there is higher demand for them."

#9. "People say that there is high demand for the petals. But is there really? Most people with petals would only want a petal floor. At the moment it makes sense to change everything you have in to petals. Because they're bound to go up - whether slowly or quickly. But having bulk petals and not much else is pretty useless - and leaving them in a room to wait for the value to increase is boring. Most traders prefer to be active, not just sit on top of their posessions. So I think that most people will stop at 28 petals, and try sell the rest. I doubt there will be constant demand for them."

#10. "I think the petal value will continue upwards and then stop at a stand still value. I think it will get to the point where only the most wealthy people can afford petal floors, but they have no reason to buy any more because they're useless to them. So the people who posess many petals won't be able to sell them for any higher, so they'll end up selling them for less - until they don't want to sell for any less. This way, the value will be stopped from going up or down. So the value will just stop - although it may perhaps fluctuate (Go up and down) slightly over time."

I think it will go up in value towards the summer period and then slowly decrease again. Its like all the snow patch, its more popular during the winter than the summer...

Not sure what theory number it is.

It's not the first time they've confirmed a peice of furni never being released again. The throne was first.

I think they will stay at 3.0 in my personal opinion

Petals are popular all year around. Perhaps marginally more popular in the Summer, but no significant difference. Many people think the snow patch is ugly and you don't see them in Casinos often, so it is true that they are far more likely to be around in the Winter.

The Staff never confirmed the Throne would never come out. It's unlikely, and barely anyone thinks it will, but they haven't said it won't come out again.

Petals have recently became very common as a consequence although of high demand they wont increase forqute a while. I'd give it a year or so...

It's obviously not a rare values report because it's not in 'report values' section lol.

Anyway, i'd say there is high demand for them.
