It was confirmed through multiple sources that David Hackl, the production designer for Saw II, Saw III and Saw IV and second unit director for Saw III and Saw IV has officially been announced to direct both Saw V and Saw VI. In the production of SAW V, one of the traps, can actually kill the person doing it.

Since the release of the first SAW, 5 sequels were immediately signed, and Tobin Bell is contracted to each of them.

SAW II was relatively decent, III was... okay, IV was pretty dire. From the second sequel onwards there is just gore for the sake of it, and every script is based around a twist at the end of every damn film. I can only assume that V and VI will follow the same format and be lackluster, especially since Darren has left the director's chair, and a production designer has taken his place, just look what happened with Joe Alves and JAWS 3.

i guess we'll have to wait and see, they're probably keeping it in reserve just in case they can't think of anything better
